After a sad four year break without them, Best Coast are back and better than ever with their newest album Always Tomorrow next month.
Previously sharing For The First Time, now their latest showcases their continuous evolution of musical and personal growth.
The song’s lyrics reflect the ups and downs Bethany Cosentino’s faced in her musical career. For instance, in the first verse she laments, “Used to say that I was lazy/ The lazy crazy baby/ Did they think that maybe I was in on it?/ Did they think? No, of course, they didn’t.” However, in the chorus, it all changes with “everything has changed/ I like it this way/ Everything has changed/ I’d like for it to stay.” We love a progressive glow up!
Directed by Ryan Baxley, it stars both Bobb Bruno and Cosentino.
The latter plays a ’70s game show host to some newlywed game with Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval, I mean “Chip,” and Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney-Schwartz as dueling couples.
Except the couples get more than what they bargained for as Cosentino begins to have a breakdown as well as a breakthrough in mid-film. Watch below.
