This spring, The New York Botanical Garden will unveil my desire for eternal cosmic beauty, which emerges from my heart.” —Yayoi Kusama, January 2020.

The New York Botanical Garden is set to unveil a multisensory presentation of beloved contemporary artist, Yayoi Kusama’s profound connection with nature.

Undoubtedly Kasuma’s ability to draw millions of people worldwide, to experience her shimmering and immersive installations, speaks volumes of her talent.
So it comes as no surprise that NYBG’s exclusive exhibit certainly struck our fancy.

The exhibition will feature works throughout Kusama’s seven-decade career. Indeed the NYBG exhibit specifically reveals her lifelong fascination with nature, which includes sketches of flowers she made at sixteen as well as new pieces to make their debut.

The exhibit includes a medley of polka-dotted sculptures of flowers, paintings, and installations. Such as a brand-new “Infinity Mirror Room” as well as a greenhouse-themed “Obliteration Room,” where visitors can cover the entire space with specially designed floral stickers.

Tickets for the exhibition go on sale on January 29th. KUSAMA: Cosmic Nature opens May 9th through November 1st, 2020.
