Banoffee’s debut album features SOPHIE, Empress Of, Cupcakke and more.
Melbourne-born Banoffee’s just released her newest video for Count On You following previous single, Tennis Fan featuring Empress Of.
Teasing us with new music just ahead of her debut album release Look At Us Now Dad, the new track is co-produced not only by Banoffee but also Yves Rothman as well as SOPHIE.
Moreover Count On You is effervescently fun with a jagged edge. Plenty of synths and bursts of guitar, we love this song so much it’s going on our bangers playlist (stay tuned for that playlist update).
Not to mention the song’s multifacetedness mirrors its visual expression by spotlighting the feeling of battling one’s inner demons and being our own worst enemy.
Banoffee explains further, “Loosely themed around the Lindsay [Lohan] version of Parent Trap, this video aims to take some heavy subjects and speak about them in a light-hearted yet eerie way.
My co-director Will McDowell and I had a pretty ambitious vision for the budget we had, and the lead up was just as hectic as our one shoot day. Training for the fencing scenes and practicing fencing-inspired choreography was so much fun, and like all my videos, I was so happy to be showcasing friends and their skills through my work.” Watch below.
