Watch: Scott Helman Gets Freudian with “Everything Sucks”

Singer-songwriter Scott Helman’s built a massive following in his native Canada since the release of his platinum-certified debut single Bungalow.
Also, winning Spotify Canada’s Emerge program and being a five-time JUNO Award nominee certainly helps.

Additionally, Helman’s performed around the world with the likes of Tegan and Sara, Shawn Mendes, Vance Joy, and Walk Off The Earth. Even collaborating with Alessia Cara as well as Hunter Hayes.

Building quite the repertoire his sights are set to break into the U.S. with his newest single, Everything Sucks.

Along with the help of Sigmund Freud’s The Interpretation of Dreams, Helman works through issues of heartache surrounding a breakup.

Not to mention his vulnerability and frankness as they’re exhibited throughout the track.
In particular, he nails the new era of brooding pop with relatable lyrics like “Everything sucks / I got fucked up on you / Give everything that I’ll ever have / just to get you back”.
We love a bit of blatant irony and Everything Sucks welcomes the oxymoron with a smile on its face, watch below.
