New Video: Watch John-Robert “Pelican”

Watch John-Robert Pelican

Continuing to hypnotize with new singles and teases from his forthcoming debut EP, Bailey Barely Knew Me. Now watch John-Robert Pelican via Warner Records.

It’s been three weeks, yet we still can’t get enough of newcomer John-Robert’s music, especially Pelican. It shows the quiet confidence beyond his years, which goes to show talent is ageless. Grammy-nominated producer and Nice Life Recording Co’s Ricky Reed discovered John-Robert by watching a Chance the Rapper cover of Same drugs.

Blurring genres and sounds, John-Robert cites The 1975, Sufjan Stevens, Jeff Buckley, Childish Gambino, and Doja Cat as musical influences.
John-Robert gives further insight via Billboard. “The song’s written during a time of my life where I was still mourning the failure of a romantic relationship. While trying to pull myself up by my bootstraps and begin making new friends. I was inspired by the book Where The Wild Things Are. I drew from that for the cannibalism concept. The idea of imprisoning someone in a stomach or beak out of destructive devotion was striking to me.” Watch John-Robert Pelican below.

As a result, not only has John-Robert captivating our attention, his song Adeline‘s amassed over 1 million total streams. We can definitely see, and hear, why.
