New Video: Watch Joesef “The Sun Is Up Forever”

Joesef The Sun Is Up Forever

We could all use a little bit of sunshine in our lives. Fortunately, Joesef has released his latest single, The Sun is Up Forever, giving us a glowing and ethereal new track.

Filmed entirely while in quarantine isolation, the footage used is crowdsourced via the collaborative platform Daisie (co-founded by actress Maisie Williams) to connect and unify people amidst the current period of separation.
Users submitted clips of sunrises/sunsets; the results are beautifully edited with a retro filter that resembles an old VHS tape. It mirrors the song’s message of moving forward.

The Sun is Up Forever holds so much personal weight for Joesef, who wrote, produced, and recorded the new single.
Joesef further explains, “I wrote this song after talking to my mum about how relationships affect you in every corner of your life, right down to the way you carry yourself. My dad was a bit of a bastard to her and us, and she said it’s something that never really leaves her, but after 20 years, she’s learned to let go of the grief a little. It’s from her perspective; and mine. It’s about leaving a dark part of your life behind you. This tune is for her.”

Don’t want you to hold me, console me, control me.
You know that I am better off out here alone.
Don’t act like you know me; you’ve showed me that, clearly.
Can’t you see me smile as I’m watching you go?
‘Cause usually in the morning I’d be out the falling in the light of every word that you say
But honey, now I’m better; the sun is up forever.
I just see you in a different shade
.”

While letting go can be tremendously difficult, it’s an anchor that weighs heavily. The lyrics focus on the The Sun is Up Forever‘s sparkling and effervescent way to take back the power and release the anchor for good. Overall, listen below or via your preferred streaming site HERE.
