New Music: Watch REYNA “Coachella”

Despite Coachella’s cancellation due to SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, Mexican American sister duo REYNA has taken matters into their own hands. Bringing Coachella to us in the comfort of our homes.

Recently signing to their first label with Cosmica Artists (The Marias, Loyal Lobos, Salt Cathedral, Vanessa Zamora), REYNA are on the cusp of making their mark as emerging breakthrough artists.
Indeed, REYNA’s creating waves with their sound. They are incorporating their Latin heritage into their visuals, which are both visually and sonically important to the sister duo.

Noted by their newest track, Coachella is saturated with beautiful Mexican imagery. The amalgam of representative culture is a familiar conflict (as a fellow Mexican American) between not “American enough for Americans or Mexican enough for Mexicans.” This integration also includes singing in Spanish, which flows nicely within the airy track.

Self-directed by the Milwaukee-based REYNA duo themselves. The track transports us to the desert music festival even though we’re doing our part to flatten the curve.
This change of scenery also caused a spark of creative thinking since REYNA shot the video entirely at their home. Recreating the mystical feeling that happens during Coachella. Watch Coachella below.
