Fresh off a pair of shows in Manchester and London just this week, Glass Animals share their newest single Your Love (Déjà vu).
Following the release of Tokyo Drifting featuring Denzel Curry, Glass Animals tantalize us with more of what’s to come from their forthcoming third studio album. The yet to be named album follows up to Mercury Prize-nominated How To Be A Human Being as well as its predecessor, and the band’s debut, ZABA.
Your Love (Déjà vu) is a nod to the noughties and its maestro producers, Timbaland as well as The Neptunes. Glass Animals signature fusion of indie, synth-pop, and hip hop continues with this clashing late-night booty-call canticle.
Additionally, Dave explains further: “I think we’ve all found ourselves in fucked up relationships that make us feel sad and helpless. Not necessarily something romantic—maybe it’s with a family member or a friend. A relationship that we know on some level is going to keep breaking our hearts. We let that person back into their lives over and over again, even though it always ends the same. Maybe you don’t confront it because you hope it’ll change with time. Or because it’s easier to let it slide and never set boundaries. Maybe you think you deserve that unhappiness. Or maybe you find some strange comfort in the chaos.”
