Black Lives Matter, Black Lives Always Matter

Black Lives Matter

Here at Play Into It, we’ve been rather quiet. That’s because we’re taking a brief hiatus to continue to join the countless protests in our area. Why? Simple. We’ve always believed in inclusivity and uplifting voices; therefore, we stand in solidarity with the Black community. BLACK LIVES MATTER.

The United States police forces are historically an overtly racist and corrupt institution that began as slave patrols to instill fear. Additionally, these tactics are still very much enforced even today.
We see the evidence through the vantage points of the protestors and not on television since media can be easily bought; however, like Gil Scott Heron sang, The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.

Silence is NOT an option; silence is complicit.
Say their names: George Floyd. Breonna Taylor. Ahmaud Arbery. Philando Castile. Sandra Bland. Oscar Grant. Samuel Dubose. Eric Garner. Tamir Rice. Walter Scott. Terrence Crutcher. Michael Brown, Jr. Freddie Gray. Stephon Clark. Alton Sterling. Trayvon Martin. Say their names — although sadly, most others we (collectively) don’t know at the hands of police brutality.

Indeed there are plenty of options for those wanting to help but feel helpless. For instance, you can visit this incredible #BLM resource list.
Not able to protest? You can protest virtually by donating (whatever you can, we understand about limited funds). Can’t donate? Sign a petition; there are so many petitions to be signed for cases that need help.
There’s never an excuse for silence; silence is NOT an option. Black Lives Matter.
