All 5 Gossip Girl Thanksgiving Episodes Ranked

It’s a Gossip Girl Thanksgiving! Since it’s fall (and the week of Thanksgiving), that means our new Play Into It tradition of rewatching all 5 Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episodes. As ‪@BitchassChicken ‬brilliantly stated. You know you love us, xoxo.
Please don’t judge us too harshly for that; we’re feeling nostalgic for fall and the diet-Succession like drama. Much like the holiday itself (Thanksgiving), Gossip Girl’s a seasonal autumn craving. Probably because throughout the seasons, the Upper East Siders (and sometimes Vanessa) somehow came together to celebrate. Nevertheless, it’s still rich white people, so there’s still plenty of scheming, lying, betrayal, and more. Although season five missed the memo, the frivolous one-percenters of Manhattan’s elite delivered deliciously drama-filled episodes that live on post-show-mortem, making it a cult classic. Therefore, in honor, here all 5 Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episodes ranked below.

1. Season 1, Episode 9: Blair Waldorf Must Pie!

Gossip Girl’s inaugural Thanksgiving outlined in motion what to expect in future episodes.
This episode has it all. The Van der Woodsen’s in Brooklyn, a secret romantic past between parents, drunken flashbacks from Serena’s bad decisions, and Blair finally admitting she and Chuck Bass had sex— twice, and please don’t be upset at the fact or “spoiler,” the show is thirteen years old. Sadly, Blair relapsed in her bulimia recovery, making viewers see a softer and vulnerable side that she rarely allows herself to show.
It’s a perfect pilot.

2. Season 3, Episode 11, The Treasure of Serena Madre

Beloved fan-favorite, the third Thanksgiving episode’s a knockout.
A not-so-secret affair with Nate’s cousin congressman Tripp Vanderbilt (Aaron Tveit), is revealed. Blair and Serena argue over the news, Jenny and Eric battle it out as well. Along with this, Blair suspects her mother to be pregnant, but surprise, she’s not. Meanwhile, Dan comes to terms with his feelings for his longtime Brooklyn neighbor Vanessa after an odd threesome with Olivia Burke (Hilary Duff).

3. Season 6, Episode 8, It’s Really Complicated

The final Thanksgiving episode was meta.
Although Dan and Serena reunite, it’s revealed during dinner that Lonely Boy’s chapter on Serena is released, which erupts into chaos. Besides that typical on/off relationship story arc, Georgina’s back. Additionally, Nate punches Dan in the face, and we can’t lie; it’s satisfying to see. Unfortunately, this episode also includes an inappropriate cultural appropriation role-playing bit with Blair and Chuck.

4. Season 2, Episode 11, The Magnificent Archibalds

Following the first year, GG’s second Thanksgiving wasn’t a great one for Blair. Meanwhile, Jenny wants emancipation to pursue fashion, while Dan is Dan, who’s insufferable. Likewise, Serena has ex-boyfriend problems with her new boyfriend. Apart from this, Nate hangs out with his dad (Sam Robards), who returns from hiding in Dominica from the FBI. This episode features more Vanessa; I know, I apologize.

5. Season 4, Episode 10, Gaslit

Almost everyone seemed angry or annoyed with Serena, understandable.
Lily forces Serena into rehab, convinced she’s partying again. However, it seems that Serena was drugged at Chuck’s Saints and Sinners ball. Additionally, Blair learns the truth about pot-stirrer Juliet (Katie Cassidy), leaving Blair and Dan to the rescue.

Lastly, in honor of the holiday, we’re starting our first and soon to be an annual fall tradition of rewatching Gossip Girl (just like we did with Happy Endings). With this in mind, and to ignore a genocidal holiday, happy Gossip Girl Day instead!
