New Music: Watch MONOGEM “Paraíso”

On the heels of Mexican American LA-based artist MONOGEM’s Soy Lo Que Soy, she’s now released her latest video. Watch MONOGEM Paraíso and get happily lost.

Resulting in a dreamy electro-pop/alt-R& B wonderment, and we can’t stop listening. Besides Paraíso’s chill, hazy demeanor, the trance-like beat is enticing. While most of us can’t get to paradise, a beach, or even a pool, this song can soothe us as if we are- even for just a moment.
Furthermore, MONOGEM gives us a bit more insight into the track. “Paraíso is a sonic break for anyone who needs it right now. Originally, I planned to release it this summer. Still, it felt timely to put this out into the universe. Indeed. MONOGEM continues, “written about a memory I had while spending time on the southern coast of Portugal two summers ago – filled with salty skin, sun-kissed cheeks, and crystal blue waters. MONOGEM‘s always toying with the notion— after all, her moniker is astral. With influences of experimentation with live instrumentation while evoking passion with percussion and drum; she also incorporates vocal layering and sampling into the release. Yet always making sure to keep her natural instrument at the forefront.
