New Music: Listen to Emma Taylor ‘Made Your Bed’

Emma Taylor Made Your Bed

She‘s a self-proclaimed “sad girl” and owns it. This up and coming artist may be on to something; already surpassing more than one million cumulative streams while captivating audiences by creating a space for emotional vulnerability. Emma Taylor Made Your Bed is no different.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Emma’s been singing for as long as she can remember. “I usually find inspiration from my surroundings or personal experience. I typically write about 20-year-old stuff: love, confusion, finding yourself- universality is so important.”
Emma’s biggest inspirations are iconic singer-songwriters, including Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, and Carole King. These ‘70s singer-songwriter influences inspire as she applies her modern melodies and sonic twists while emphasizing the art of storytelling.

Thus her newest single tells a story of a one-sided relationship filled with isolation and disappointment. She allows listeners to grieve their losses and reclaim ownership of a new direction in their lives, something we all could use right now. So listen to Made Your Bed below and become enamored with Emma Taylor.

For a little further insight on Emma Taylor, here’s a snippet of her interview with James Wood. “Can you give me a little backstory on your new track, ‘Made Your Bed’?
ET: Some of my previous songs have had an underlying theme of being stuck in a relationship. For this one, I wanted to flip the table and say, “Hey. You’re screwing up, and I’m not going to allow it anymore.” It’s a song about taking responsibility for your actions and not letting someone you love get away with it.

I have to ask, how have you been dealing with the quarantine?

ET: It’s affected me. It’s crazy not to have the inspiration from social interaction but, right now, it’s a lifestyle change we all have to make. I do miss the regular day to day things and conversations we all take for granted. As far as performing goes, I’m not sure when that will happen again, but it will most likely be different when it does.

We hope for the same thing, we’d give anything to hear Made Your Bed live and swoon.
